Roz McCall MSP for Mid-Scotland and Fife has “warmly welcomed” UK Government funding for grassroots sports facilities in Dunfermline.
In conjunction with the Scottish Football Association, the UK Government have delivered £2 million worth of funding for 23 sites across Scotland.
Fife Council was one of the successful applications with Dunfermline High School receiving funding for a new artificial grass pitch.
Roz McCall says that this UK Government funding award is a “major boost” for Fife Council’s plans to promote sport and healthy lifestyles in schools across Fife. With the overall project costing £294,958.54.
Ms McCall says that this funding shows the UK Government’s “firm commitment” to investing in grassroots sport in Fife and states that Dunfermline High School’s new artificial grass pitch will provide pupils with the space to exercise and socialise.
Roz McCall MSP has also encouraged everyone across Fife to get involved in supporting grassroots sports, to ensure they continue to be successful going forward.
