Fife MSP says NHS Fife is not meeting A&E waiting times.
Please find Roz McCall’s comment on the latest A&E waiting time stats, published by Public Health Scotland today. They show that, in the week ending March 19, just 62.9% of patients were treated within four hours (down from 64.7% the week before – and the lowest figure since w/e January 8). The total number of patients waiting more than four (9,342), eight (3,344) and 12 hours (1,382) were all up.
In Fife, the percentage of patients treated within 4 hours in the week ending March 19 was just 68.4%. The total number of patients waiting for more than four (372), eight (139), and 12 hours (36).
Roz McCall (MSP for Mid-Scotland and Fife) said;
“We are into spring, but the NHS waiting times are still well below the target set by the Scottish Government.
“It is unacceptable that 36 patients in Fife have had to wait over 12 hours to be treated by A&E.
“The figures across NHS Scotland are dire, resulting from years of SNP mismanagement of our health service.
“The new First Minister must make resolving the crisis in A&E waiting times their first priority.
“Humza Yousaf’s eye has been off the ball, and he has allowed the NHS to fall into crisis and has not yet offered a solution to fix it.”
